Evesham Festival of Sport 2012
In June 2010 we had the brilliant idea of organising a ‘Festival of Sport' to promote Evesham and showcase the wonderful range of sporting clubs that we have here. Fran Webb, our chairperson, set about contacting many local clubs to outline her idea of using existing events and organising inter club ones to encourage new membership and provide a larger platform for advertising their activities. The feedback was amazing and the Fesitval of Sport was born.
Evesham Festival of Sport 2011 was voted a huge success and enjoyed by all who took part. With the opening event drawing crowds of over 1500, hopes were high for the events to follow. We were not disappointed as feedback showed well over 4000 took part in a wealth of activities and free taster sessions organised by the participating clubs
The year the Evesham Festival of Sport is going to be bigger and better with more clubs involved.
Festival opening ceremony on Crown Meadow 1st July 2012
Following the olympic torch coming through the town, many sports clubs and groups offering dance and musical training will be showcasing and providing demonstrations.
11.15am - 12 noon : Evesham welcomes the London 2012 Olympic Torch
12 noon : Evesham Festival of Sport opens on Crown Meadow

Festival closing ceremony - 8 July 2012
On Crown Meadow following the Birdseye Sports Evesham Vale 10k race. We will be holding an inter-club tug of war competition.
